Ashley Farrell, an up and coming artist who has recently settled roots in Nova Scotia, has been creating artwork since her early childhood. A mom of two young active children, it’s only been in the past few years she has followed her passion and begun to share her unique ideas beyond family and friends. Her choice of mediums range from acrylics to coloured pencils with creations bridging from wildlife to fantasy. Boasting contrasting colours and singular focus, Ashley looks forward to going bigger and bolder in the next coming year.

Originally from Montréal, Québec, Benoît Paradis moved to Pictou, Nova Scotia, in April 2022.
He grew up with a pencil in his hand as a medium of expression. Books, comics and cartoons on television feed my imagination and covered the sheet of paper. Studies in mechanical design drawing followed by a career in aerospace design did not satisfy his artistic thirst. Benoît began to study Visual Arts at Cégep du Vieux Montréal and subsequently Film Animation at Concordia University, which recognized his talent by awarding him prizes and mentions.

After retirement, Darlene Dixon took time to explore a lifelong passion of art. In 2016, brush in hand, her journey began. Born and raised in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Darlene’s life, home and travels have been her inspiration. Drawn to the beauty of a sunset, the ruggedness of our seas, the simplicity of a single flower, the rusted old and forgotten; these are the things she likes to capture. As she continues to explore and grow with her art, Darlene will continue to share beauty through her eyes. She hope her art inspires you, makes you smile, brings back a distant memory, or takes you to a faraway place.
Her art can be found in the homes of private collectors across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Gaétane Martel was born and raised in Montreal before moving to Pictou County.
The art of photography allows her to highlight the beauty that surrounds us. She uses nature as a means of expression. It also allows her to be aware of the remains of nature and the passing of time. It is a great freedom to create and express her vision of photography.
The story behind each image is unique and exclusive. That’s what she likes to share with people. In Gaétane’s practice, she brings a technical dimension by encapsulating a picture with resin, adding a different characteristic to her art.
Rose M Sangster has had a love for photography since her early teens. Over the years she has used 127,110, polaroid 35mm and slides and has attended several photo workshops and classes. She is a member of Truro Image Makers and SNAPS as well as other online photography groups. She loves all kinds of photography.
