Emerging artist, Jaclyn Dionne, specializes in creating spirited paintings of voluptuous bouquets, intricate botanicals and imaginative landscapes using her signature collection of harmonious colours. Confident, bold brushstrokes, superimposed on colourful stains build the layers of colours and create the energy-filled works.

Strategic placement of contrast in both colour and shape give Dionne’s works depth and harmony. While her works are filled with dynamic colours, all the colours across Jaclyn’s paintings are created with a limited palette giving a harmonious quality to collections within her work. Working with a limited palette of 6 split-primaries (plus white) Jaclyn developed what she calls a ‘sliding-scale primary palette’ of three colours, which allows her to create a beautiful range of colours and shades that help her art stand out in the crowd. Typically, Jaclyn will premix her colours, creating in excess of 50 colours on her palette.
