Intermission

Pause, reflection, breath.
The Pugwash Artist Collective is happy to present the exhibition INTERMISSION.
Through a variety of approaches and media, the members explore their personal understanding and insights of the theme.
INTERMISSION speaks to a pause in a dramatic production and a short break for the audience and performers. This could be interpreted as stretching muscles as it were, or a much needed rest, a gathering of energy before Part II.
The artist wonders what really happens during this pause, mentally, emotionally and physically.
Metaphorically speaking, INTERMISSION might serve as the most right time for a clearing of the stage so that the story continues, perhaps in a different light. The artist illuminates the reset button, so that work and play, listening and engagement, stillness and action are renewed.
PUGWASH ARTIST COLLECTIVE
The Pugwash Artist Collective has been on a journey since 2010, meeting, sharing and working together, supporting each other’s growth. Oh, the invigorating discussions! While creating in many different media – fibre art, painting, metal work, clay, film, photography, printmaking, writing – we are strengthened by the diversity of the work and variety of approaches. We enjoy contributing to the vitality of Nova Scotia’s North Shore through group and solo art exhibitions. Grateful for the support of our community, we seek to give back by initiating and managing opportunities that foster artistic growth and celebrate the talents of our local, established and emerging artists.
